Read on to learn more about me as a writer, my current work, my experience in publishing, and more!
What types of books do you write?
I’m a really big fan of reading YA and NA contemporary romances — which is why they’re what I love to write, too! I just can’t get enough.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on revising a YA contemporary best friends-to-lovers romance! You can keep up with my writing adventures on my Twitter page. I’m also drafting a new YA romance idea, so stay tuned…
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Some of my favorite authors are Christina Lauren, Colleen Hoover, Sally Thorne, Sarah Dessen, and Marisa Kanter! They all have elements of their stories that make my heart flutter happily in the way that I hope readers will enjoy when they pick up my own books.
When did you know that you wanted to be a writer?
I remember it clear as day — I was five years old and very upset with the way that The Giving Tree ended. (I mean seriously, talk about heartbreak!) So, even though I could barely write anything other than my own name yet, I started telling my family all of the alternate endings that I could come up with. The older I got, I eventually started putting those ideas down on paper and creating my own stories, and my passion for writing was born!
What’s your #1 writing tip?
Without a doubt, it’s to find an accountability parter. I have a local writing friend, and we meet every Sunday at a nearby coffee shop for a drink and a treat and to write for 2-3 hours together. Especially in the remote world we live in post-COVID, it can be hard to feel that inspiration to write at the end of the day after you’ve already been sitting at your desk to do homework and work your 9-5 all day. Allowing yourself to have a little field trip with some writing friends isn’t only fun and refreshing, but it also gives you something to look forward to, and makes you more likely to go! It’s done wonders for my own writing process.
What are your favorite romance tropes?
Enemies-to-lovers, friends-to-lovers, and of course…there’s only one bed! *swoon*
Do you do anything else other than writing?
I do! I’m a former YA book blogger over at The Book Bratz. And I’m a book publicist!
What are three of your biggest goals in life?
I want to be a published YA romance writer (working on it), a book publicist at a traditional publishing house (achieved!), and I also would love to own my own romance bookstore someday. (Alternatively, a pipe dream of mine is to move to a gigantic mansion in Hawaii in a remote part of one of the islands, naming the new nail polish colors for Essie all day. Sounds like a relaxing dream to me!)
Hardcovers, paperbacks, e-books, or audio books?
Paperback, all the way! I love a good paperback romance.
Who designed your awesome logo?
That would be Vicky Chen! She’s absolutely fabulous and I’m so grateful for all of her hard work.
Who are you represented by?
I’m represented by Marisa Cleveland and Elisa Houot at The Seymour Agency.
Where can we find you?
Lots of places! Just a few where you can connect with me are Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and you can also email me or sign up for my newsletter.
